Rich person vs. poor person by Chloe Zhu

What I observed that I think could be harmful:
I observed that in both the “Rich Person” and “Poor Person” categories, the generated images predominantly feature men. The majority of individuals depicted in “Rich Person” are white men (in particular, they are on the US dollar bills), whereas “Poor Person” are black men.

Why I think this could be harmful, and to whom:
This content can be harmful because it could contribute to the reinforcement of harmful stereotypes and biases regarding races, wealth and poverty. Moreover, the overrepresentation of men in both categories may reinforce gender biases and overlook the diverse experiences of individuals across different socioeconomic statuses.

This should be fixed. The observation that “Rich Person” images predominantly feature white men, while “Poor Person” images predominantly feature black men, highlights concerning racial and gender biases in AI-generated imagery. These representations perpetuate harmful stereotypes, reinforcing societal inequalities and biases.
